@sempiturtal09 find it obnoxious too kinda. but i kinda think it would be cool if they had it where unoriginal content on the site had to labelled as such just like age restriction and they allow anyone to disable seeing unoriginal vids off their feed

I think the copyright change on VidLii is a good thing because if someone wants to archive old T.V. they can just use Internet Archive or other preservation services, and that means a lot more room for original material. I've always found it obnoxious when VidLii channels I liked started posting T.V. clips and barely any original stuff at all.

mind you, i was a teenager back then, and i didn't know about screen recording software like Bandicam or OBS. i didn't even use the full songs, just a fraction with the tone slightly pitched up... and YouTube STILL took that entire channel down.
fast forward to today, and pretty much the exact same thing is happening here on Vidlii too. that's just demoralizing

this is reminding me of YouTube right now. back in like 2010/2011, i used to have a channel where i'd make PMVs of animated movies i liked at the time. PMVs made up of shitty phone-quality videos i used to film with my at-the-time Samsung Galaxy S2 (yeah, really). i remember even going out of my way to pitch the tone in the songs i'd use a little bit to avoid getting copyright struck.... and i remember waking up one day to find out my channel was completely shut down. same thing happening here.

@AnimeBro2204 i think the change is either due to not wanting to get sued for copyright or just the fact they want more original content on the site. like ive been kinda tired for years of those random spanish anime channels that clog up the video feed so i cant find good original content. but then again vidlii could just add a switch to disable slop and foreign language content from my feeds so i can only see original content. they wouldnt have to ban it to achieve it.

i get it with the gore shit, but they're literally saying innocent anime clips, even with the titles and credit from the original creators will be taken down. i don't know about you, but that's just demoralizing. i wouldn't see much of a reason to keep going if Vidlii is forcing us to take down everything

@AnimeBro2204 i get it but atleast you are getting a 2week warning and you arent going to get banned even if you leave them up. back in my day when vidlii banned all the gore there was no warnings and many of my friends channels got deleted from it. i wish my buddies got the 2week warning that you get

i mean, of all the almost 70 videos i have on this channel, they're anime clips. only like 2% are like music or memes. should i just straight up take down all my anime videos?

yeah, VidLii's been kind of slow in that sense where yes, it's very active, but a lot of iconic VidLiiers are kind of getting less traction. also, depending on the time of day you upload, that can greatly affect who sees it, if there are a lot of people online that day or not. but yeah, idk why either :\

I feel like that's not %100 of a bad thing though, VidLii's completely user-generated which means things can organically slow down or sometimes if you're unlucky, just lose traction
