Tbh japanese copyright law is completely fucked. I think it's the reason why Nintendo is so asshole about people making plush channels about their characters or having emulators for old games. In their home country they could get away with suing anyone for anything so they bring that same mentality to american law. Hell Nintendo and other game companies managed to make videogame rentals illegal in Japan in the 80s because just saying "we lose profit" is a good enough excuse in Japanese law

Its like imprisoning someone for just watching a bank robbery happen from a distance. It doesn't make any sense to punish someone just for watching distribution of copyrighted goods. Why punish the witnesses of a crime as if they are the same as the person doing it? Idk about america but atleast in Japan they treat people just watching pirated movies the same as if they were the ones running the websites.

But like even if copyright can't be abolished. I still think reducing the time to like 30 or 40years until expiry and decriminalizing consumption of copyrighted material if you aren't redistributing it yourself (like you shouldn't go to jail for watching a movie on a piracy site or downloading an old game unofficially) like imagine if the police made it illegal to look at graffiti on a building even if you aren't the one drawing it on. It wouldn't make any sense to punish consumption only

@edray1416 I don't really believe in copyright law. It doesn't make sense that if you draw graffiti on a wall that someone would need permission to take a picture of it or recreate it on canvas. Also doesn't make sense that you would go to jail just for looking at graffiti not even distributing it. You can't own an idea that's not a physical object.
I can sort of understand copyright in the sense it protects small creators but still I kinda think it's stupid to be able to just own an idea.

What browser do you use, and if its a firefox based one, do you have a custom user.js? Some browsers/configs disable custom fonts on purpose and prefer your system fonts.
